For nearly two decades, the remains of young women kept turning up along the desolate stretches of Long Island — in the scrub brush off Ocean Parkway, in wooded areas out east, in places no one was supposed to find them. And for most of that time, no one was held accountable. I'm Tony Brueski, and this podcast is my deep dive into one of the most chilling serial murder cases in modern American his... more

For three years after his arrest, Asa Ellerup defended Rex Heuermann on camera. She called him a family man. She said they had the wrong man. Then on April 8, 2026, he pleaded guilty to eight murders — seven inside their home. He told Asa directly. T... more

Asa Ellerup sat across from the man she was married to for decades and heard him say he killed eight women — most of them inside their home. She asked about dismemberment. He told her yes. She walked out of that jailhouse, told a camera crew she stil... more

Rex Heuermann set the terms of his own confession. Before he stood in a Suffolk County courtroom and pleaded guilty to murdering eight women, he arranged private jailhouse meetings with his ex-wife and his daughter. He chose the order. He chose the s... more

  • Engaging

I enjoy Tony’s take and how descriptive and well written and thoughtful him and his guests are. Yes , can be repetitive at times but I just scroll through to what I feel like listening too.

  • Total faith in SCPD???

What about the 14 year gap in the investigation? Guess you're NOT from Suffolk County…I agree with the other reviewer I wouldn’t have the daughter babysit my pet rock. This podcast is an insult to the victims and supports the corruption that allowed the decade plus stall on the investigation and let this monster go free. Stopping gleaning other’s reporting and more importantly STOP victimizing the victims.

  • Too many ads

Ok, just to let everyone know, this is not actually an original podcast. Each little episode is clipped from his other shows. These are generally 5 minutes of episode and 6-10 minutes of ads. Also they clip the weekend episodes that repeat everything from the week so it’s the exact same thing again. This guy is an old morning shock-type joc that just never got over it. Don’t bother.

  • Same episodes over and over!

They just name it something different and even the ad free version has ads. Just not an unbearable amount. Good premise, real bad execution

Asa Ellerup Faces a Jury — What Happens Next
Q: What impact might Ellerup's own media appearances and storytelling have on the civil case, including potential First Amendment defenses?
Media participation could complicate liability questions, with a possible First Amendment defense arguing that telling her story is a protected activity; however, the court could balance this against civil claims, potentially allowing evidence from media work while ensuring it does not improperly influence the jury.
Asa Ellerup Faces a Jury — What Happens Next
Q: Could the case against Ellerup succeed based on willful ignorance or unjust enrichment, and what would be the practical consequences if a judge dismisses it before trial?
The potential success of such claims hinges on the strength of factual pleadings, the ability to prove knowledge or substantial involvement, and whether the court finds the claims too speculative; a dismissal could prevent a civil trial and limit damages, but if viable, the case would introduce complex questions about family dynamics and liability in criminal cases.
Asa Ellerup Faces a Jury — What Happens Next
Q: Is there a legal obligation for a spouse to investigate their partner and reveal crimes to authorities, or can Ellerup reasonably rely on the legal system to uncover wrongdoing without personal action?
Legal experts suggest there is no blanket legal obligation for a spouse to investigate and disclose every misdeed; a civil claim would need strong, specific evidence of knowledge and active concealment, and the defense can rely on a robust legal framework that recognizes a broad defense based on lack of responsibility and intervening causes.
Heuermann Admitted to Eight Killings — The Full Story
Q: Why might the defense agree to an admission of guilt for one victim without a formal charge or conviction?
The defense may seek to avoid a more traumatic courtroom presentation for the families, secure a faster resolution, and potentially leverage the admission to influence sentencing or future interview dynamics, all while navigating the limits of what can be charged and proven in court.
Heuermann Admitted to Eight Killings — The Full Story
Q: What does a plea deal like this typically gain for prosecutors in a case with so many moving parts?
Prosecutors gain access to material, cooperation potential with investigative agencies like the BAU, and a structured way to secure accountability while avoiding an extended trial, especially when there are complex evidentiary and psychological elements at play.
