I discovered Captains pod partway through watching Discovery season five. While eagerly awaiting each Discovery episode, I went back to the very beginning and have been binging these ever since to the neglect of all my other podcasts. I think I will cry when I get caught up. Looking forward to continuing weekly podcast. I love you guys.

  • Companion enhancing appreciation of the shows

I love and would watch Trek anyway, but listening to Deneé and Ian talk about episodes consistently improves my enjoyment of them. I got more out of even the more painful and cringe episodes of Picard, and their enthusiasm made the best episodes of Strange New Worlds even better. Whether you’re a fan of Trek or a relative newcomer this podcast will give the watching more flavour and context. Highly recommended !

  • If you love Star Trek…and CinemaSins…you should be listening

    I can’t believe I haven’t written a review earlier…but better late than never!

Ian and Deneé are a treat. Ian is a huge Star Trek nerd, but Deneé has limited Trek exposure, so the dynamic is great. It’s fun to get a fresh perspective on what we as long-time fans take for granted. Deneé’s reactions are often priceless.

Despite the fact that it IS a CinemaSins podcast, the sinning is generally light and done with a love for the material. And it’s good to be reminded that no TV show is without si... more

Star Trek Strange New Worlds: New Life and New Civilizations (S3E10)
Q: What are the predictions that we had for the season?
The predictions were about cameos and specific themes for the episodes, which didn't all come to fruition.
Star Trek Voyager: Living Witness (S4E23)
Q: What did you feel when you saw the museum's version of history?
It felt frustrating and unjust to see Voyager misrepresented, reflecting how history can often be distorted by those who record it.
Star Trek Voyager: Living Witness (S4E23)
Q: What were your overall thoughts and feelings about this episode?
It's a unique take on an episode because it builds a lot of what you think is the episode in the first third, then breaks it down in the middle, and ends with questioning the history being told.
Star Trek TNG: Timescape (S6E25)
Q: What did you think about the alien species introduced in this episode?
It was a fascinating concept, where the alien species lays its eggs inside black holes for incubation, adding a unique twist to the typical Star Trek narrative.
Star Trek: Section 31
Q: What do you want to know about Section 31 before we get into the movie?
It's a shady Starfleet organization and a concept that means something different.
