  • Love it!

I live in New Hampshire, but make several trips down to the Outer Banks to fish. This program is informative and entertaining, and I also found out about a couple of the local. Shops, restaurants, etc.. when I’m not on the Outer Banks it’s just great to listen to on my way to work and keeps my brain on the beach. Cheers.

  • Shut Up Justin

Cpt Marty is a local treasure. Great stories and wonderful sense of humor. But Justin and his phony radio voice just grates your eardrums and patience. Tries being folksy and sounds hokey instead. Bring back Jody from the radio days!

Fishing Report 4-3
Q: From Powhatan or Pohatn? Powhatn, I think is right. Is there any place I could recommend between Ramp 55 and the Pole Road for Eric to fish this weekend?
Marty consulted Kara Eakes, who advised a southern stretch past Ramp 55 where the beach gradually bends toward the inlet, specifically noting the bar that forms near the beach as a good target, with soft plastic baits such as scented Z-Man grubs as effective options.
Capt. Marty Story: Starting Out On The OBX, Page 1
Q: Captain, I got a question for you.
He explains that the early days involved paying dues, learning on headboats, and proving oneself through hard work, long hours, and adapting to new waters and crews before eventually finding a home on the Outer Banks.
Capt. Marty's Other Side of Fishing Show, Episode 5
Q: What do you recommend for bait when fishing?
Most people should use fresh bait such as shrimp or mullet, or even sand fleas.
Capt. Marty Story: Man Overboard Vol. 2
Q: What happened on the boat after John fell overboard?
The crew, realizing the captain was missing, put out a Mayday call to the Coast Guard and began searching.
