American prosperity was built on a foundation of free markets and free people. But, with inflation on the rise and a struggling market, many in America’s political class are attempting to recycle failed socialist ideas and calling for government intervention in nearly every aspect of American life. They should play this at the beginning of every lecture in every economics, regulatory, law, marketing, finance, basket-weaving, gender studies class on every college campus, in all of the US ad infinitum. Unfortunately, we are raising generations of children who a) remain children well into adulthood, and b) think the fix for every perceived injustice is government regulation and more laws. What a blessing to have your voice in the midst of this insanity.

These short episodes are dense; a bit like a Tabata workout. Hang on to your vocabulary and don’t multitask. Grateful for someone who can articulate worldview, first principles and Christian ethics.

  • Bring back the old format

I don’t like the changes to this podcast. The hour long interview format was a lot more interesting and insightful, especially with guests he took exception with. I certainly don’t agree with David Bahnsen on everything but enjoyed the show for his knowledge and intellect. Now the show is just a soapbox for him to complain for about 10-12 minutes. Boring.

Episode 173: Getting Based with Work
Q: Do you think the conference, do you think the subject, do you think you're the passion you feel for it is largely driven by a message you'd like to see the church get on with, you want an antidote to laziness, is it a kind of personal character issue or do you think there's something more broadly economic at play?
It's a mix of wanting to drive home a message to the church about work and the dignity found in it, while also acknowledging broader economic challenges.
Episode 169: Déjà vu and Demography
Q: What is the general takeaway of this piece that you wrote in late March?

It will likely be viewed with skepticism, similar to how television is regarded now.

Yes, there will be a new player, and it won't take 10 years.
