I was born in Albany. Drove through Dawson hundreds of times. The racist South was no mystery to me. My grandfather (German Jew escaped in 1939) settled and thrived in Americus, ga where the court case failed the Brazier family. I was raised to abhor racists. I wished many times during this 4th season that I could ask what they remembered and I nderstois about the Brazier murder. They did read the Albany Herald after 1960.
