  • Just another movie podcast trying to be edgy

Yes. Another movie podcast from someone who clearly has zero knowledge of film or the filmmaking process. The episodes meander and never fully come together. I’m not sure what the point of this podcast actually is? Hopefully they can work it out

  • Like Sitting With Friends

I appreciate the casual nature of this podcast. It’s much like I’m sitting with good friends enjoying a drink ... or two! The discussion usually includes films from all time periods including the classics. And by classics I mean black and white films from the 30’s and 40’s. These are some of my favorite films and are frequently overlooked by other podcasts. Thanks Brain and Shelly for making me feel like a part of your film family!

  • Not the Obvious

These two are excellent at shining a light on underexposed films. They discuss the big budget movies sometimes but they dig in on films you've loved, forgotten about or never seen. IF you love film, you owe it to yourself to give them a shot. Oh and I especially love their occasional guest The Movie Genius. Good stuff.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Solvent With Director Johannes Grenzfurthner
Q: How did you come up with the idea of having a sentient ooze that's immortal?
I thought about the idea of a basement Nazi who is literally part of the ground, representing how the legacy of Nazism persists.
Solvent With Director Johannes Grenzfurthner
Q: What is your fascination with like broken characters?
I am interested in characters that are not easily identifiable and those that exist in shades of gray.
Solvent With Director Johannes Grenzfurthner
Q: Was it always the intention of having the point-of-view perspective from the main character?
Yes, it was intentional. I wanted to create a trilogy where the aesthetic connects the films without being plot-wise interconnected.
House Of Ashes With Director Izzy Lee
Q: So if you could please just sort of like, you know, talk a little bit about, you know, your career and how you sort of got started, and then we can sort of transition into talking about the movie?
I had been a film festival programmer, a genre journalist for many, many years. And I had gotten really frustrated at the politics in this country.
Modern Day Scream Queen Jessa Jupiter Flux At Phoenix Fan Fusion 2025
Q: What was one of the hardest roles that you had to do for a performance?
Jessa found a role in a short film adaptation of 'All Through the House' to be particularly challenging as it involved deep emotional connections to motherhood, something she both desires and fears not attaining.
