  • Postgame show

Love the enthusiasm from the two hosts of the postgame show. Just don’t think they have a lot to add as far as football knowledge and X’s and O’s to break down what just happened and why. That’s the whole reason for the postgame show. If I wanted to listen to some homers with the average fan’s football IQ I can just call one of my buddies after the game.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Spring Ball Day 12 | Kelly Poppinga, Defensive Coordinator | March 27, 2026
Q: What do you feel heading into the final week of spring ball?
The coach responds that leadership and depth are strong across positions, with particular confidence in the back end and the outside linebackers, while acknowledging the ongoing need to maintain discipline and continue improving across the board.
Spring Ball Day 15 | Kelly Poppinga, Defensive Coordinator | April 2, 2026
Q: What stood out about the new players in spring, like Cato, and how they fit into the scheme?
Cato showed exceptional speed, potentially the second fastest on the team, and the group overall is fast, athletic, and capable of contributing immediately if they continue to grow and adapt to the scheme.
Spring Ball Day 15 | Kelly Poppinga, Defensive Coordinator | April 2, 2026
Q: Do you feel like you have an identity that's formed during spring camp from your defense?
Yes, the identity has been established over the years and will continue to be multi-faceted, focusing on cover three concepts with multiple looks and wrinkles, so the defense will look different to viewers while staying true to our core approach.
Spring Ball Day 15 | Kelly Poppinga, Defensive Coordinator | April 2, 2026
Q: Will the actual depth chart, the terminology, the, you know, like 4-3 defense, will that change under your direction as opposed to Jay Hill's?
No, the defense remains multi-faceted and will adapt across multiple fronts, but the depth chart will stay similar to what we've had; we'll be able to align as 4-3, 3-4, 3-3-5, or 4-2-5 as needed.
Spring Ball Day 2 | Bear Bachmeier, Quarterback | March 2, 2026
Q: Do you think there's anything that you can do to maybe reproduce that production with some of the new tight ends coming in?
Each player learns and fits differently, but once the tight ends acclimate to our scheme and how we like to operate, they'll be dangerous again and contribute in similar impactful ways as Carson did.
