  • Best in class

I always looked forward to Mitch’s portions of the show he used to be on and to now have a show where it’s him 100% is awesome. Such a professional I can really nitpick a lot of other radio sports shows but nothing with Mitchell. Best local voice in the state.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

BYU basketball portal activity continues to move + Hoops, Football talk with Matt Baiamonte
Q: What are your instant thoughts on KJ Perry entering the transfer portal?
My take is that Perry was a high-upside JUCO transfer who didn't get much time on the court; if BYU can replace him with more experienced pieces, the roster can still remain competitive without sacrificing long-term development.
BYU coordinators Kelly Poppinga & Aaron Roderick close out spring ball
Q: How many running backs do you anticipate using, and how will LJ Martin be utilized?
We plan to rotate multiple backs but will lean on LJ 20 carries per game; Cione Moa will spell LJ and play in various packages to maximize depth and matchup opportunities.
BYU coordinators Kelly Poppinga & Aaron Roderick close out spring ball
Q: Will the actual depth chart change under your direction as opposed to prior coaching staff?
We will keep the depth chart broadly similar, with multiple defensive looks, and we expect to maintain a consistent system across coordinators while refining depth at positions like corner.
Kalani Sitake gives closing thoughts on BYU spring practices in 2026
Q: Kalani, with no transfer portal opening this April, how will your month change moving forward this next month? and will you still do the exit interviews and interview all the players?
We'll continue with exit interviews to set clear expectations and check in on players' development, particularly those who couldn't participate in spring or are coming back from injury, and then refine plans for summer and fall.
BYU prepares for Texas in NCAA Tournament + Fesi Sitake interview
Q: What was the objective you laid out for the wide receivers at the start of spring, and have they met it so far?
The objective was to create opportunities for players to step up and adapt to new schemes, with an emphasis on responding to lost production while evaluating who can consistently execute and contribute in a broader, more complex system.
