  • Pretty good

These podcasts are pretty good. However, I haven’t been able to listen or download episodes if in (or VPN shows) USA or Israel. I sometimes will change the VPN to the EU and listen, but they’re really not worth that hassle.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Is the Iran War Ramping Up or Winding Down – with Dan Shapiro
Q: Had that [early leadership strikes] been allowed to proceed, would Iran have faced a more favorable option for containment without escalating to a wider war?
Yes, the guest suggested that achieving a decisive, limited victory earlier could have avoided a broader war, but the decision to press on with wider ground options and continued pressure changed the calculus and prolonged the conflict.
Are We Heading Toward a Stalemate in Iran? – with Dennis Ross
Q: How do you feel the war is going?
The war is complex; while there are criticisms, the analysis suggests that Iran's behavior remains aggressive, but the strategic objectives and clarity of leadership in Washington influence how effectively the campaign is understood and supported domestically.
Antisemitism, an American Tradition – with Pamela Nadell
Q: What role did federal policies and civil rights movement play in transforming Jewish inclusion in American life?
Civil rights legislation and fair employment/housing laws dismantled many formal barriers that kept Jews out of elites and public life, allowing broader participation in education and professional spheres, while antisemitism persisted in new forms, including anti-Zionist currents that redefined Jew-hatred in contemporary discourse.
Why the West Struggles to Recognize Evil – with Natan Sharansky
Q: What moment showed the importance of calling out evil openly?
The moment when Reagan publicly called the Soviet Union evil empire became a powerful validation for dissidents and a signal that moral clarity from leaders matters in sustaining freedom movements.
Why the West Struggles to Recognize Evil – with Natan Sharansky
Q: Why is it so hard for democracies to name evil clearly?
Fear of conflict, of being labeled racist, or of political backlash leads to moral ambiguity; recognizing evil requires bold leadership and a willingness to face short-term costs for long-term freedom.
