I use this podcast almost every night... Now, instead of getting anxious when I feel wakeful in the night, I just listen to Teddy's wonderfully monotone voice telling me some very boring information about tractors or fences or something dull like that, and I find I drift off pretty quickly. Thanks so much for doing these podcasts, it's been life changing for me!!
I have tried several podcasts of this type and this is the best one I have found! Your pace and accent are soothing. I have to be careful and only listen to the non-fiction however, as I enjoy the fiction writers you read too much!! I am hooked!
This podcast has gotten me through many a sleepless night. 🙏 My personal favorite episode is A History of Tea. Thanks for all you do, Teddy!
I was staying at a Vegas hotel where the pool party music was so loud until 4am. I found this app and played it through my ear buds and slept through the racket. It was amazing. I listened to the same episode repeatedly and never stayed up for more than a few sentences.
Teddy has bored me to sleep every night for almost 2 years now. I’ve listened to every episode and can’t tell you what any of them were about. Something about his voice, lack of inflection and pacing, along with his utterly boring story choice makes it impossible to engage. My mind just does what he suggests at the beginning, which is to slowly fall asleep. Thank you very much Teddy!

A soothing, sleep-forward podcast offers intentionally dull, calming bedtime stories for adults, read in slow, easy English from public-domain classics. Episodes blend gentle narration with sleep-hypnosis cues and a focus on relaxation, aiming to quiet racing thoughts and help listeners drift into deeper rest. Notable elements across episodes include readings from open literary sources, a consistent tone designed to be minimally engaging yet highly soothing, and sponsorship reads that are integrated in a light, non-intrusive way. A recurring strength is the host's steady cadence and the deliberate dullness of the storytelling, which many listeners credit with reliably aiding sleep; occasional criticisms hinge on the monotone delivery for th... more
