  • Thankful for moody radio & Dr Mark Jobe

I listen to Dr. Mark Jobe everyday on my lunch break via Moody radio. Sometimes I revisit the sermons through this podcast. I am grateful for Mark’s faithful and consistent preaching of God’s Word. It’s often the encouragement I need mid-day to set my mind on things above. I love how clear and straightforward Mark’s teaching is on our new life in Christ!! Dying to the old self, putting on the new. Thank you, Dr. Mark!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Love Stops for Healing – Part 1
Q: For most men who feel like their relationship is good but not great, what is the first bold step they can take after reading the Five Love Languages for Men?
The recommended first step is to initiate an open, honest conversation with his wife about the book, express a desire to grow, and discuss what makes her feel most loved; this conversation opens lines of communication and provides the emotional data needed to improve the relationship.
The Reality of Heaven and Hell -- Part 1
Q: Are you sure about the idea that dogs and animals have a place in heaven?
The message touches on questions about animal souls with lighter speculation, but ultimately centers on what the Bible says about humans and their eternal destiny rather than definitive animal outcomes.
The Power of Your Identity -- Part 2
Q: Mark, my question is about tithing. Should I give to your ministry or my local church first?
The recommended approach is to prioritize your local church first, and then consider supporting Bold Steps and other ministries beyond that.
Staying Strong When Life Wears You Down -- Part 2
Q: What is psychologists' role in solving life's issues, and how does that fit with a biblical perspective?
The speaker distinguishes between secular psychology, which may conflict with biblical truth, and biblical teaching that emphasizes renewal of the mind through God's truth; psychology can be considered cautiously, but truth from Scripture ultimately transforms thinking.
Taking the Presence of God with Us -- Part 2
Q: You said God does not tempt. Then why does Jesus teach Lead us not into temptation in the Lord's Prayer?
God cannot be tempted, nor does He tempt anyone; temptation is described as a testing or enticement that comes from outside of God, but the prayer asks for deliverance from temptation and for help to resist it, highlighting God's role in providing refuge and strength rather than being the source of temptation.
