Love the content and journalism but was legitimately shocked when there was a Southern California Edison ad about their “fire preparedness” in the first five minutes of the latest episode? I thought Sammy was playing this to critique it but no…it was just an ad. A super greenwashed ad. Lost some respect.
I recently started listening to this show and I love it. It is so informative and entertaining. I would like to hear an interview with someone who has an opposing viewpoint who could discuss how compromises can be made and what may prevent that.
This is a very informative podcast and I appreciate it being available. However it seems like every time climate change is addressed a huge contributor is always ignored. Animal agriculture is a huge contributor to greenhouse gases, water use, land use, deforestation, monocrops and so on.
It is also something that people individually can significantly and easily make a positive impact on. Pleas, please include a discussion on animal agriculture in a future episode
Boiling Point is one of the essential features of the Los Angeles Times. Sammy Roth manages to balance his expertise in the field with a sense of curiosity that leads to dogged reporting on THE issue of our day. But what’s special is the moral conscience he brings to the climate crisis as a columnist. Looking forward to seeing how Boiling Point translates into audio interviews and keeps the West Coast front and center in the clean energy transition.
I’m so grateful for this coverage. I’ve appreciated the Boiling Point newsletter for years and it’s been incredibly helpful for my work in teaching sustainability and here now as an urban planner. Excellent, thoughtful discussion.
