  • Don’t Clutter

One thing I hate about podcasts are when a company like Blloomberg has multiple podcasts and the add another podcast to another. Bloomberg This Weekend has Bloomberg Intelligence showing up here. If I want to listen to Intelligence I would be following. You’re adding something to my listen to list that I don’t need. Please remove.

  • Terrific addition

The new Weekend live morning shows are a great addition to the Bloomberg schedule. And being able to get highlights here - if I miss the broadcast - is terrific.

  • Wonderful.

This is a wonderful podcast for the weekend. Enough of the news to make it informational, but enough of the fun stuff to make it relaxing. The crew is great, familiar Bloomberg names and guest. Overall, it is wonderful podcast and a great way to spend part of my weekend with.

Tanker Struck in Hormuz; AI at the Ballot Box
Q: What is the current landscape of AI influence in midterm elections, and who is funding these efforts?
AI-related money is flowing into the midterm races through multiple super PACs, including those backed by OpenAI founders and Andreessen Horowitz figures, while opposing groups back AI safety advocates, demonstrating a competitive, highly visible proxy battle over AI regulation.
Iran Says Hormuz Is Closed Again; Sit-Down with Sen. Warnock
Q: What is your read on the health of the US economy today, particularly through the lens of GDP versus stock market gains?
Warnock cautions against focusing only on Wall Street, arguing Main Street realities—like inflation, wages, and access to affordable goods—better reflect economic health and policy impact.
Iran Says Hormuz Is Closed Again; Sit-Down with Sen. Warnock
Q: You're on the banking and finance committees. In your view, what should the country be watching as AI and technology reshape the economy?
Warnock stresses building a bipartisan regulatory framework for AI and crypto that protects consumers, sustains innovation, and avoids rushed, protectionist moves that could hamper growth.
Iran Says Hormuz Is Closed Again; Sit-Down with Sen. Warnock
Q: You write about voting rights in this country and I'll quote a bit here. The protection of our democracy hinges on voting rights because the right to vote is preservative of all other rights. What would you counsel people on as the Supreme Court decision reverberates?
Warnock emphasizes defending voting rights as foundational to democracy, urging proactive civic engagement and legal action to safeguard access, while acknowledging the political challenges and the need for broad coalitions to protect democratic norms.
Trump to Consider Government Stakes in AI Companies; Knicks Win
Q: What is the core idea behind government stakes in AI companies as discussed in the episode?
The core idea is to have the American public participate in the gains from AI by government stakes or dividends, potentially through a sovereign wealth-style approach, while still weighing the regulatory and economic implications and ensuring global competitiveness.
