Reviews

4.1 out of 5 stars from 225 ratings
  • Content is borderline at best. It's supposed to be a sports podcast & this episode is talking about tequila. For the most part, even on the interesting topics, it is just boilerplate Q&A where nothing insightful is ever offered. Also, the content itself is basically an ad, + the ads are ads. So, a lot of ads.

Novig's New York Mets Partnership & Growing Sports Prediction Markets
Q: Can you walk us through the difference between sportsbooks operating at the state level and prediction markets operating at the federal level, and why that matters for Novig?
The federal government oversees event contracts, which lets prediction markets operate nationally, while sportsbooks are generally state-regulated; this distinction enables a safer, regulated, and more scalable environment for sports trading, which is essential for consumer protection and growth.

Q: So how quickly can DC host a Super Bowl, given the stadium timeline and community process?
He indicates there are clear milestones and aspirations to host a Super Bowl, with the drafting season and events serving as proving grounds; the timeline depends on political approvals, readiness, and delivering a world-class experience to attract a flagship event.
BONUS: Fireside Chat with Washington Commanders President Mark Clouse
Q: Based on your previous history, what is the biggest difference that you find between corporate culture and team culture?
The interviewee explains that while the business side is familiar, the passion and intensity around football create a different environment; yet the fundamentals of leadership, alignment, and rebuilding a team culture after tough times are the common threads that translate across both worlds.

Q: What makes Seattle unique as a soccer market and how does owning both an MLS and an NWSL club under one umbrella help you grow the game?
Seattle's deep, passionate soccer culture is a huge advantage; owning both teams allows cross-pollination of fans and messaging, enabling targeted storytelling for two very distinct but overlapping audiences and maximizing the city's overall soccer ecosystem.
