Good pod, I came for the Larry Correia interview and stayed for The Forgotten Ruin author interview and book review. It’s a casual fun chat with good perspectives.

Great podcast. Been listening since the previous iteration which I also enjoyed very much. Glad to see that they’re continuing on.

I especially enjoy the guests and because of the podcast’s format, you get to hear a lot more about them personally as well as how and why they crafted their massively entertaining stories.

One major caveat: one of the 3 hosts feels the need to cut off guests in the middle of any answer.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 751: Charli Cox & John E. Siers, The Anthromech Anthology
Q: If you could live in this world, would you?
Charli would absolutely live in the Lunar Free State world, drawn to humanity escaping Earth, settling on the Moon, and exploring intergalactic possibilities.
Episode 754: Redemption by Jen Finelli
Q: How did your military medical background shape Redemption's core premise?
Jen explains that the pitch Angry Battalion Surgeon, Hopeful Idealistic Combat Medic captured the essence, fusing medical duty with frontline action to create a character-driven arc set in a fallen empire. The realism comes from authentic medical practice, battlefield ethics, and the emotional toll of saving lives under extreme pressure.
Episode 756: Tell, the Detective Series by Chloe Garner
Q: How do you handle the balance between dark, high-stakes murder mystery elements and light, humorous moments?
The core is that the characters genuinely enjoy life and their adventures; humor comes from how they navigate chaos together, with a healthy dose of gallows humor but always focusing on what makes them human and why they fight.
Episode 756: Tell, the Detective Series by Chloe Garner
Q: Before we dive into the series, what inspired you to create Tina and Tell as a platonic detective duo?
I wanted to contrast a methodical, organized heroine with a improvisational, action-first partner to create dynamic friction and strong friendship without romance, letting them solve mysteries while exploring deeper themes about humanity and morality.
Episode 755: Heartlanders by Graham Bradley
Q: How did the ARC Prize Contest influence the writing process?
The contest deadline pushed a fast, hair-on-fire writing pace, but the author still developed a complete, self-contained story that could later branch into a series if desired.
