Thanks Rick, I have now listened to all episodes , very well put together podcast. Keep up the good work
Love the show but Peter Taylor has devalued the whole evidence based accounts by not knowing his facts and looking like a fool. He makes exaggerated claims about people being killed every year north of San Francisco by big cats. Rubbish!!!Attacks are very rare and significantly less than 1 per year.
Wonderfully informed on the subject - Rick’s years in the field (and wood, and fen) create an air of trust where witnesses can step in and share their experiences without getting their toes stood on. Solid choices on subject and guest selection across the series make a persuasive case for the cat - may they be left undisturbed!
Thanks Rick for an informative and measured podcast.
I have had a passing interest in Big Cats for a few years, but this podcast has ignited an insatiable passion for the subject. My friends tease me and say I must have a PhD in the topic by now! This show centers on real eyewitness accounts of big cat sightings in Britain, exploring what listeners saw, how the witnesses felt, and how these events fit into a larger narrative about big cats in the countryside. Conversations with everyday people—farmers, hikers, and locals—are juxtaposed with expert context on behavior, habitats, and evidence, creating a grounded, skeptical-to-curious exploration of the phenomenon. A notable strength is the host's calm, patient interviewing style and the emphasis on evidence processing, witness credibility, and community collaboration among researchers and enthusiasts.
