Well! This podcast certainly did give me something new to think about. Russ answers a very odd question. You’ll have to listen to find out what it was. 🙂
What a great history lesson. I didn’t know anything about the Back to Jerusalem Ministry. Now I wish everybody knew.
STORGĒ. “I choose to do what I know benefits you” strikes again in this podcast. If I understand storgē correctly, it needs to be guided by the love described in Part 5–agape. Storgē love is affection that can produce grace or justify dysfunction. Both of these examples can be found in an institution we all understand—the family. What better place to “choose the best interest of the other (family) person.” Storgē love.
I love it when you say, “Listen.” You have a special way of doing that. And I always do. My life verse (is that what it’s called?) is Isaiah 64:6. When presented with that verse, that’s the day in 1969 that I gave my heart to Jesus. Your overview of Isaiah was short and sweet—judgment to rescue. I have not and will not resist rescue. God is so good. I’m not sad now that Isaiah has concluded. (I can review it any time.) I’m rejoicing because God has good things for us.
Today I liked the distinction between gates and courts. That was new to me. But what I love and appreciate the most is your enthusiasm, Russ. It is contagious. Don’t ever lose that voice.
