  • Brilliant Podcast!

This podcast is brilliant! The ladies presenting are extremely knowledgeable (they are doctors) and everything mentioned is in easy to understand language & plain terms. It’s also very informal & lots of laughter going on which takes much of the fear away. I have always found anything gynae scary but this podcast diffuses all of that. Well done ladies - I’m almost 65 & have learned so much about my body & previous experiences listening to you. Thank you!

  • Amazing

This has been completely life changing. To hear medical professionals empathising with conditions that are rarely understood or cared about is so refreshing! Ive recently had a very bad experience with a female gynaecologist (who I wrongly assumed would be empathic, given she was not only female, but also a gynaecologist 😂) and I was made to feel crazy. The way you explain and talk so openly is so good. Looks like I’ve actually got adenomyosis and deep infiltrated endometriosis, and not only ha... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Menopause: One Size Does Not Fit Most
Q: From the tops of what is menopause and what is perimenopause?
Menopause is defined as 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period, marking the end of reproductive fertility, while perimenopause is a transitional phase with variable and evolving symptoms, often occurring before the final menstrual period; diagnosis relies on symptomatology and timing rather than a single test.
Let’s Talk About Sex (and Periods!): School Edition
Q: Who should deliver PSHE/RSHE, and is it better to have teachers or external speakers?
A mix is often best: strong relationships with a trusted adult plus external speakers for sensitive topics, though training and consistency are crucial to avoid diluting messages.
Let’s Talk About Sex (and Periods!): School Edition
Q: What is PSHE or RSHE, and how is it structured in schools?
PSHE is Personal Social Health Education, with RSHE as the Relationship and Sex Education component. Schools often lack a dedicated PSHE department, leading to delivery by teachers from various subjects and inconsistencies in time allocation and depth.
Little Patients, Big Questions: Paediatric Gynae 101
Q: What can parents do if they notice their children are struggling with periods or puberty?
They should see a GP to explore options and ensure their child can manage their periods well.
The Cervix Is In - Why Screening Saves Lives
Q: If someone has had a hysterectomy, do they still need smears?
If you've had a full hysterectomy and had your cervix removed, you do not need another smear; if you have a subtotal hysterectomy, you will still need smears.
