I’ve always been fascinated by the use of Remote Cameras, but it’s not something I’ve had the chance to try, unfortunately.
The last time I cover it on the show was on the episode Using Remote Cameras with Canon Explorer of Light David Bergman, and ... more
There have been so many times that I’ve made a mental note that I need to include more photojournalism on the show, only to have a mental dog eat my homework. Finally, today, I am checking that off the list.
Still, if I’m being honest, it wasn’t my ... more
To say I’m excited for today’s show is a huge understatement.
I first met today’s guest 6 years ago, when our mutual friend Adam Elmakias asked us both to help him with his Live Music Photography Workshop. I’m sure you know that feeling of “if this ... more
Over the last few years I have been lucky enough to have the agency Wonderful Machine suggest a few photographers for the show, and every single time I’ve been blown away by the level of artists that they represent. Today is one of those times.

I’ve been listening to (and watching) BTS for years now and it remains one of my favourite photography podcasts. Steve always has interesting guests and the conversations they have are both entertaining and informative. I highly recommend BTS regardless of the type of photography that interests you as he interviews photographers of almost every genre you can think of and there’s always something to take away from each episode.
This is a must listen PODCAST for photographers, no matter where they find themselves at on their photo journey… I enjoy listening to the podcast description before looking at the picture online or in the video feed. The description is 98% what I picture in my head before seeing it and interesting enough notice something I normally wouldn’t have seen. Outstanding work on the format of this podcast, it is like an interview of the featured photo alongside of artist…. I have learned a lot from this... more
I’ve been binging this one a lot recently. Steve is a professional host and thoughtful interviewer and has to be one of the best at describing an image in great detail. That’s usually my favorite part of each episode! The production of the podcast is also consistently professional, Steve’s radio and DJ background helps a lot here I think.
Steve does an excellent job introducing you to top or emerging photographers from a variety of genres. He pulls out great tips, how they got started and really the thought process his guests used in creating a photo. He is a master at describing a photo in words so that even if you don’t see the photo you can envision it (but I would highly recommend you watch the video version, but close your eyes as he describes the photo first.
By far, this is my favorite podcast. Steve is so humble yet highly skilled, gracious and appreciative to all his guests. Great questions and insights. And choice of guests and images to discuss are worthy choices. The overall theme is highly valuable to me. Love the background stores, recipes, humanity, sharing of skills and expertise. I highly recommend this podcast series.
