Beat Wala 31: PIV Academy launches
Q: How did PIV evolve from a label into a movement and community?
It started with friends throwing parties, grew into a tight-knit family and community, and expanded from Holland to Europe and worldwide as the brand took a holistic approach to artists, events, and culture.
Beat Wala 26: Loco Dice talks Purple Jam at ADE
Q: How did you decide which collaborators to bring onto Purple Jam, and was it all planned or more spontaneous?
It was a mix of planning and chemistry; I wanted to work with artists who could fit together internationally and bring different textures, from Hafty and Gwei to Skrillex and Martinez Brothers, but it was always about serving the music first, not chasing a trend.
Beat Wala 26: Loco Dice talks Purple Jam at ADE
Q: So what took you back to your hip hop roots on the latest record? What kind of inspiration does that give the album?
I never left hip hop; I am hip hop as a culture, and even though I explore electronic paths, the hip hop influence remains a constant thread throughout the album, with collaborations that reflect that connection.
