  • Some good content, but...

Content can be good, sometimes hit or miss. However, episodes are very short and painfully scripted. I feel like I’m listening to Ben Stein narrate.

  • Excited to see where it goes

Episode one was good. I think there is a lot of potential in the podcast.

My suggestions would be to make it a little longer, it’s hard for me to get into a series that is under 20 minutes. Also, it is a little more obvious that the questions were read word for word but I assume that will change with time.

Powering the Supercycle: Electrification, Talent, and the 2027 Industrial Outlook - Part B
Q: Looking ahead to 2027, what sectors or trends within the industry are you most excited about right now? And what are some of the biggest threats that you see playing out?
Peter highlights ongoing demand from electrical infrastructure tied to data-center build-out and automation/robotics as major opportunities, while Laurence emphasizes power and electrical infrastructure, reshoring, and the need for skilled labor as critical drivers; both view AI as a growing, though not primary, area to watch. The biggest threats include macroeconomic volatility, competition driving high multiples, and the persistent risk of skilled labor constraints limiting execution; both stress the importance of diligence in understanding supply chains, moats, and the ability to pass through costs.
Beginning with the End in Mind: Exits and Buyer Competition in the Industrial Sector - Part A
Q: What is your pacing in light of ongoing capital availability and market uncertainty on the buy side?
Peter emphasizes a cautious stance, prioritizing quality deals and maintaining discipline; Laurence aligns on selective pacing with emphasis on strong fundamentals, platform opportunities, and a robust sourcing engine to identify proprietary opportunities.
Beginning with the End in Mind: Exits and Buyer Competition in the Industrial Sector - Part A
Q: With capital on the sidelines, how are you pacing investments—more selective, more aggressive, or somewhere in between?
Both firms describe a balanced approach: deal-by-deal evaluation with a clear underwriting and investment committee process. They aim for two-to-three new platforms per year, focusing on high-potential subsectors, with heightened due diligence on resilience, pricing power, and growth levers rather than chasing pace for pace's sake.
Beginning with the End in Mind: Exits and Buyer Competition in the Industrial Sector - Part A
Q: How is longer deal timelines and competition from strategic buyers shaping your approach to deal timing on the buy and exit sides?
Both guests discuss a bifurcated market: fast, competitive processes for A+ and growth-oriented industrials, and longer, more challenging exits for broader industrials. They emphasize building deep subsector knowledge, proprietary deal flow, and a disciplined readiness process (including an exit committee) to navigate timing and maximize exit outcomes.
No Shortcuts: The Case for Patient Sourcing and Earned Partnerships - Part B
Q: What's the key to successful investor-operator partnerships in practice?
The key is genuine rapport and the ability to pick up the phone and talk openly at any time, ensuring alignment on strategy and fast, trust-based collaboration rather than rigid scheduling.
