We've had a bunch of questions about this week's subject - what on earth does your payslip actually mean?! There's columns, gross, net, YTD, deductions - all just wanky words designed to confuse. In today's episode, Kate & Pete attempt to explain wha... more
This week, Kate and Pete finish up their conversation about credit cards, and whether they can be used safely, or are a dangerous slippery slope to debt chaos. Guess what - the answer is more nuanced than you'd think.
With debt so prevalent in our society, and credit cards one of the most-used versions of debt, we wanted to go deep so you can understand how they work, what happens with your credit score and lots more besides. Tread carefully with debt!
Join Kate and Pete once again as they go in-depth into one of the most important elements of everyone's wealth-building: the ISA. This week we cover how they work, what you can invest in and lots more besides.

Brilliant podcast, well done
Really enjoying this new show. Will be recommending to others
Having been a long time listener to MM, and having three children all learning about money, I was looking forward to seeing how this could help supplement the help I am giving them. So far so good! Really enjoying it and it’s giving some great explainers. My only advice - make sure you aren’t just replicating the info available on MM. would be great to cover the things that perhaps slightly younger kids need, such as “what is a bank account” and “what is a savings (not ISA) account”.
Don’t think that this is just a podcast aimed at those whose year of birth starts with a 2……it’s a great listen for anyone. Sure we all needed to learn this stuff back in school but listen now - there’s still lots to learn and enjoy. Well done Kate ( and OK, Pete too…..)
Kate and Pete, thank you so much for doing this. The knowledge provided by Pete and questions asked by Kate are ideal for anyone trying to get a grip of their personal finances. This should be part of the national curriculum although will I’m sure be useful for people of all ages. Great job guys!
