Ballarat in western Victoria became the location of an epidemic of clerical paedophilia. The dark tragedy affects thousands of lives to this day. It is widely acknowledged the Catholic Church protected its worst offenders and moved them on to prey on new unsuspecting communities. What is not understood is the Victoria Police Force also bears a grave responsibility for the betrayal of Ballarat's ch... more

Really well done. Hard to listen to but survivors and advocates speak so well.
This is an incredibly important story that needed telling and I'm glad there were lots of interviews with victims and the police who tried to put a stop to the horrific behaviour much earlier than it really ended. The narration was strong.
The story-telling was maybe not as good as it could have been and I was left wanting a little more.
It’s an important story that needed telling, but sad and tragic. Lots of interviews with the victims and the police that tried in vein to prosecute. Thanks to the victims for speaking out. Only criticism is the sound is a bit low, hard to hear, especially episode 3.
A shocking exposure of Police Corruption in the highest levels of the Victorian Police. Thousands of children were abused and the abusers were protected by police. Truly shocking!
Once again I’m left agog at the way individuals try and cover this up. Brilliant podcast and beautifully produced. The Australian always produce 1st class podcasts.
