  • Peter is slimy and pretentious, and I’m talking straight to you know Peter: chill out.

I know you’re insightful- because you consider yourself insightful- but take it easy. When you hear yourself, you could recognize that you come off as a pretentious, pompous, sycophantic, stuffy, dork.

  • Disrespectful attitude and questions

Unfortunately I found some of the questions and the attitude of the interviewer condescending towards the subjects being interviewed and totally unnecessary when it comes to exploring the craft of acting. I just listened to the episode with Marianne Jean-Baptiste and I honestly couldn’t believe some of the backward questions she received. I couldn’t finish the episode.

A self-tape for a Vince Gilligan project on Apple TV led to a testing and eventual role; it was a lifelong dream to work in his universe, and the experience was surreal and deeply meaningful, highlighting trust and collaboration with the director.
Karolina Wydra
Q: What is the on-set preparation for an animal or other physical modality in a role like this?
Preparation happens mostly before shooting: working with a coach, identifying a specific animal or energy, studying movement, and then translating that energy into physical cues and ritual in the trailer to embody the character before set.
Karolina Wydra
Q: Do you have a typical way that you like to begin your preparation process when you get a new character?
Karolina describes dream work and subconscious exploration as a starting point, then layers in multiple techniques like Meisner, script analysis, and active imagination to build the character, with flexibility to choose methods that fit the role.
Simon Helberg
Q: Do you have a typical way that you like to begin your preparation process when you get a new character?
Helberg describes a careful, multi-stage process starting with a precious first reading, then reverse engineering the role, balancing deliberate analysis with freeing to feel and listen, and finally integrating notes and backstory as needed while keeping the moment alive.
Asa Butterfield
Q: Do you have a typical way that you like to begin your preparation process when you get a new character?
Butterfield describes starting with coaching and the given material, then adding his own perceptions, emotional history, and imagined backstory, followed by exploring physicality to find how the character carries weight and energy before returning to a real, authentic feel.
