  • Peter is slimy and pretentious, and I’m talking straight to you know Peter: chill out.

I know you’re insightful- because you consider yourself insightful- but take it easy. When you hear yourself, you could recognize that you come off as a pretentious, pompous, sycophantic, stuffy, dork.

  • Disrespectful attitude and questions

Unfortunately I found some of the questions and the attitude of the interviewer condescending towards the subjects being interviewed and totally unnecessary when it comes to exploring the craft of acting. I just listened to the episode with Marianne Jean-Baptiste and I honestly couldn’t believe some of the backward questions she received. I couldn’t finish the episode.

David Krumholtz
Q: How do you handle auditions and the pressure of being watched?
Auditions can be nerve-racking, but self-taping has often eased pressure by letting me control what is seen. If I'm offered a role, I check in with the creative team to align on vision, but I also trust my intuition to deliver a grounded, honest performance even under scrutiny.
David Krumholtz
Q: What is your typical preparation when you get a new character?
There isn't a single routine; the first step is reading the script and absorbing the story, then finding how to elevate the material rather than making it about oneself. Grounding the character physically and visually—hair, physique, voice—helps keep believability, while staying open to new choices to avoid predictability.
Stellan Skarsgård
Q: What do you mean by saying that the director should not impose their will too much, especially on skilled actors?
He believes that actors must have the freedom to explore, and the director should watch and trust the actor's instincts more than enforce rigid methods.
Stellan Skarsgård
Q: Do you have a typical way that you like to begin your preparation process when you get a new character?
Skarsgård admits to procrastinating due to panic when he accepts a role, but emphasizes the importance of understanding the director's vision.
Samantha Smart
Q: What was it like on a set where you wrote the script, you have some of the trust directing it, but you have these instincts that are directorial?
It was a collaborative effort, and I was involved in many aspects of the production.
