  • Peter is slimy and pretentious, and I’m talking straight to you know Peter: chill out.

I know you’re insightful- because you consider yourself insightful- but take it easy. When you hear yourself, you could recognize that you come off as a pretentious, pompous, sycophantic, stuffy, dork.

  • Disrespectful attitude and questions

Unfortunately I found some of the questions and the attitude of the interviewer condescending towards the subjects being interviewed and totally unnecessary when it comes to exploring the craft of acting. I just listened to the episode with Marianne Jean-Baptiste and I honestly couldn’t believe some of the backward questions she received. I couldn’t finish the episode.

Diane Kruger
Q: Do you feel like you need to ask the director to give you the backstory, instead of coming up with it yourself?
I feel like that because it's his or her movie. I want to know their perspective on the character.
Diane Kruger
Q: What happens when that's wanted by the other actors? Do you try and push back?
I'm starting to push back because rehearsal takes away from the immediacy of a scene.
Diane Kruger
Q: Do you have a typical way that you like to begin your preparation process?
I request a meeting with the director to read the script together and discuss the character's backstory.
Cassandra Freeman
Q: How can directors create a better environment for actors?
It starts with reassuring actors of their purpose and needs to collaboratively define how to work together effectively.
Cassandra Freeman
Q: What does you feel is important in collaboration as an actor?
Every actor is different, so we need to discuss how to support each other's unique processes.
