Surprisingly enjoyable, nuanced and accessible series of lectures. The speaker, Prof Broome, comes across as a thoughtful teacher. I liked how he includes stories from the historical record from the perspectives of the various British, colonial settlers and Indigenous groups. The field of Aboriginal Historical Studies really only got started in the 1970s, so I’m sure this is a burgeoning area as documents and oral histories are discovered!
Excellent introduction to the immense span Aboriginal history and of the impact of colonialism. Highly recommended.
Unfortunately facts are lost in the fiction.
Good message, got boring
The only challenge was that there were clearly visuals in the class, but they were not available in the catalog.
