I am a fellow therapist specializing in attachment trauma (I work with adults). I often recommend her work because of how beautifully she is able to take the science of attachment and make it accessible to our day to day lives. This is a wonderful podcast and I’m grateful to have her sharing this work!

  • Amazingly helpful!

As a mom of a neurodivergent spicy kiddo I find Eli and her guests so thoughtful for families like ours! A lot of attachment/conscious parenting resources are only JUST beginning to think/talk about what neurodivergence’s looks like in families trying to attune to kids with a variety of sensory needs, regulation skills, and emotional tolerance levels. I appreciate Eli’s gentle and sturdy spirit that communicates “I am for you and your kid! We’re gonna figure this out together.”

How To Deal With Your Child’s Sensory Needs | With Tia Gamelin
Q: What practical steps can parents take today to support a child with sensory processing differences?
Design predictable environments with clear zones, use visual schedules, limit overwhelming stimuli, and practice co-regulation strategies; prioritize meeting the child's sensory needs over correcting behavior, and seek multidisciplinary help when needed to support the child's independence.
How To Deal With Your Child’s Sensory Needs | With Tia Gamelin
Q: Start off by giving us an understanding of what an occupational therapist does in the context of sensory needs.
An occupational therapist helps children perform the activities of daily life by addressing sensory processing, coordination, and self-regulation, using a holistic, environment-focused approach that considers vision, motor skills, social interaction, and practical supports like schedules and spaces.
How To Use Music and Rhythm To Regulate Ourselves and Our Kids | With Kira Wiley
Q: Tell us a little about how rhythm plays a role in self-regulation.
Rhythm provides structure and order, which feels good in the body and has a regulating effect, especially for young children. It bypasses complex language and engages the body directly to help calm down.
How To Make a Parenting U-Turn | With Wendy Synder
Q: Can you walk us through what it looks like in reality to create a fresh start with our kids when they're little, when they're medium, and when they're teens and adults?
The approach centers on humility, willingness to seek help, and choosing compassionate, non-punitive strategies that honor the child and family. It involves acknowledging the impact of our actions, repairing when we slip, and gradually building a partnership with our children across all stages of development.
How To Deal With Boredom | With Lizzie Assa
Q: Tell us about play pockets and how that can help us.
Play pockets bring the play to life where life already happens, giving kids a safe, accessible space to start or continue their play without constant interruption. It's about meeting children where they are and letting them lead, while the parent stays as a supportive, nearby presence.
