  • Great content- hard to hear

The content provided on this podcast is great!

The only issue I have is that the audio is not in stereo. Having one voice on the left and one voice on the right is difficult to listen to. This is made worse if you have any hearing loss in one ear or the other. Once this is fixed it will be easily be a 5 star podcast!

  • Please, stop interrupting guests

This is a very informative podcast for safety professionals, covering very relevant topics. Unfortunately, it is unlistenable for me due to Scott not allowing his guests to speak without interrupting with “mhmm”, “okay”, or “right”, every 20 seconds. There is no need to interrupt the expert you have invited to your podcast after every point they suggest.

    Best Regards

  • Great show that’s hard to listen to.

This podcast is easily a 5-star, but for the sound quality (sounds like they record in a bathroom and hard to hear the speakers). A better recording location and microphone are all you need to take this to the next level. Either way, keep doing what you’re doing — it’s great info!

  • Great content

The topic selection has been spot on. I like that the length of the podcasts are just right- short enough to listen while I'm doing other tasks and long enough to provide depth on the topic of the day.

I'll echo some of the other comments about hearing the featured guest - the sound quality could be improved.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Role of AI in EHS: Using AI Tools to Improve Safety
Q: What role does data readiness play in AI adoption for EHS?
Data readiness is foundational; without adequate data capture and quality, AI initiatives can stall. The discussion highlights the need to collect and understand raw data before applying AI, and to use a phased, problem-driven strategy to build usable data foundations.
The Role of AI in EHS: Using AI Tools to Improve Safety
Q: How do you start conversations with clients who want to use AI?
The approach is to listen first, assess the practical work and daily workflows, and determine where AI can realistically fit within their technology stack. This includes evaluating governance, data readiness, and the potential to enable improvement without overpromising AI capabilities.
The Role of AI in EHS: Using AI Tools to Improve Safety
Q: What problems are safety leaders trying to solve with AI, and how often is AI the right tool?
Arianna explains that AI should be considered as a tool to support defined safety problems, not a universal fix. The emphasis is on understanding the actual workflow, data availability, and whether AI adds value given the current process, with a preference for a problem-first approach before buying tech.
How to Protect Your Team with Personnel Nets and Debris Nets
Q: How does one ensure the system remains compliant and safe over time?
Follow the manufacturer's installation manual, maintain an inspection log (shift-by-shift inspections), keep debris and environmental exposure in check, and rely on a competent person to assess conditions such as wind and sun degradation, while tracing nets via serial numbers for accountability.
How to Protect Your Team with Personnel Nets and Debris Nets
Q: So what advice would you give safety professionals about selecting the right type of net for a project?
Assess the specific debris profile, expected wind loads, height of drop, and whether the system must allow containment of water or other materials; then work with a qualified professional to tailor a layered system (base structural net plus additional containment) and ensure proper anchoring, testing, and ongoing inspections.
