This show is so laid back and nerdy and sweet. Their humour is not cool and the show can often get lost in the weeds. But! This makes them very endearing and I love listening to this when I want a non-threatening, low energy aura around me. Also— I love hearing about the scholarship around the Bible and history.
If you aren't big on religion or people being jerks, but are interested in Bible, this is a very good podcast. Also they made a Goku reference about riding on clouds that lives rent free in my head.
Really good
I am always happy to see, that I still have episodes to listen to because they are simply delightful and fun. For me, they‘re doing a great job »trying not to be jerks about it« because they discuss a lot of religious ideas in earnest, but when they get goofy … it‘s just a good way to approach an religious text in modern times for non religious people like me. Informative, fun and just great!
Two very nice boys not being jerks at all about the Bible. This show has really helped me with my deconstruction, giving me a new way to engage with texts used in harmful ways in my youth.
