  • Abysmal audio editing and sound quality

One of the worst audio editing I’ve encountered in any podcast. Sometimes there are cuts mid sentence so it’s difficult to focus on what the speaker is trying to say. Literally abysmal audio editing. Plus there are way too many cuts stitched together from different sentences. Amateurish editing to put it mildly. Audio quality is also quite bad. Can’t you guys (and your guests) afford better audio capture devices? Cutting audio clips mid sentence coupled with low sound quality makes it difficult ... more

  • Great show, weird editing!

Love this show, have been listening for years and Bernard and carol consistently have fantastic interviews with interesting guests.

One quibble - in recent weeks it sounds like the interviews have been edited to shorten the length by removing the natural gaps in interviewees speech. As a result it sounds a bit robotic and harder to listen to. I hadn’t noticed this until the last couple of weeks - maybe it’s just me?!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Incorruptible: The Chapter The Lean Startup Missed with Eric Ries
Q: What is the thread that connects all of your major career moves, from Lean Startup to institutional design and AI governance?
The throughline is pulling on the thread of truth—deep curiosity about how organizations really work, and a focus on building systems that endure by aligning incentives, governance, and culture with long-term value rather than short-term gains.
Inside "Defending Taiwan": How to prevent a war between China and the US with Eyck Freymann
Q: What is the one thing you know about Taiwan deterrence now that very few people understand?
Freymann emphasizes that the core is economic: it's the AI and global supply chain dependence on Taiwan's chips, meaning deterrence hinges on maintaining resilient supply chains and signaling credible responses to economic coercion, not just military posture.
Inside "Defending Taiwan": How to prevent a war between China and the US with Eyck Freymann
Q: So walk me through why you think Washington has been asking the wrong question for the last decade.
Freymann explains that the real issue is not timing of invasion but how China uses coercive pressure and economic tools to shape behavior, with 2027–2049 framed as internal readiness milestones rather than invasion deadlines; the focus should be on sources of uncertainty and how to deter at the political-economic level as well as militarily.
Inside Pulse ID's Playbook for AI-Driven Banking with Alex Topaloski
Q: What is the most challenging pricing model, and how should banks approach pricing in AI‑driven loyalty?
Smart pricing is the hardest to get right due to variability across products and markets; banks should be cautious about how they market and communicate pricing to customers and focus on value delivery rather than assuming uniform profitability.
Inside Pulse ID's Playbook for AI-Driven Banking with Alex Topaloski
Q: What were the toughest moments in maintaining a long‑term partnership with a large organization like Visa?
The toughest moments involve aligning on governance, regulatory expectations, and reliability in a space where the stakes are high; delivering consistently across multiple deployments and markets while maintaining bank-grade security.
