  • Abysmal audio editing and sound quality

One of the worst audio editing I’ve encountered in any podcast. Sometimes there are cuts mid sentence so it’s difficult to focus on what the speaker is trying to say. Literally abysmal audio editing. Plus there are way too many cuts stitched together from different sentences. Amateurish editing to put it mildly. Audio quality is also quite bad. Can’t you guys (and your guests) afford better audio capture devices? Cutting audio clips mid sentence coupled with low sound quality makes it difficult ... more

  • Great show, weird editing!

Love this show, have been listening for years and Bernard and carol consistently have fantastic interviews with interesting guests.

One quibble - in recent weeks it sounds like the interviews have been edited to shorten the length by removing the natural gaps in interviewees speech. As a result it sounds a bit robotic and harder to listen to. I hadn’t noticed this until the last couple of weeks - maybe it’s just me?!

Simular AI and Computer Use is the Final Frontier in AI with Ang Li
Q: What is your definition of AGI and how do you test for it?
AGI is identified by the ability to do all the work a human can do, but Li emphasizes that you know it when you feel it—tracking whether an agent can perform all tasks reliably through interactions, not by a single snapshot. He also distinguishes between whether the system can complete work effectively and whether it feels like collaborating with a human colleague.

Skepticism is valid due to neutrality and do-no-harm concerns; the approach is to ensure communities are at the forefront and to avoid harm while exploring AI capabilities.
AI Is Not an Efficiency Tool for Humanitarian Causes with Nur Hafiza Mutalif
Q: What is the core reframing of AI's role in humanitarian work?
AI should be seen not as an efficiency tool but as a means to compress diverse data into evidence-based insights and to build trust with communities.
AI Is Not an Efficiency Tool for Humanitarian Causes with Nur Hafiza Mutalif
Q: How did Nur transition from skeptic to sponsor of the AI project?
She describes a gradual shift aided by pro bono experts who explained how AI could work ethically and did not force a one-size-fits-all approach, increasing trust and comfort with the technology.
Inside the War on Southeast Asia's Industrial Scam Economy with Rafael Frankel
Q: What does success look like three years from now in anti-scam work?
A mature, institutionalized, cross-sector collaborative framework with ongoing disruptions and a broader coalition of governments, law enforcement, platforms, and civil society working together to reduce scams significantly.
