  • Too Gimmicky

I loved this podcast but lately it’s very clear it’s become a free marketing channel for promoting an absurdly expensive book coaching program that mostly targets women. Gives me the ick.

Karin Slaughter Does it Again
Q: How do you inform yourself of what you didn't know regarding law enforcement and criminal justice?
I have police officers and retired GBI officers to speak to for accurate details, ensuring that I can portray law enforcement actions as correctly as possible in my novels.
Karin Slaughter Does it Again
Q: What do you think is actually harder about writing a series versus a stand alone or the reverse?
In a stand alone, the stakes can be much higher because you're not going, you can damage these characters. I can kill characters in a standalone, making the sense of jeopardy always heightened.
The Beauty in Writing About Tragedy
Q: How did you each determine to write about your experiences?
Marty decided to write after attending a memorial event, and Rossana started writing to process her grief and keep her brother's memory alive.
The Beauty in Writing About Tragedy
Q: How do you feel when this happens, as it happens so many times?
It's hard not to relive the experience, and I try to focus on hoping that their recovery can start with the tragedy they face.

Q: What does an average writing day look like for you?
An average writing day varies; some days are good when characters come alive, while other days can be challenging with distractions.
