Had enough of the banter
Enjoyed it at first, but the tedious 'banter' has grown worse over time and is now ruining the pod for me. They're not half as funny as they think they are. The rest of the show relies far too much on Nicky, who isn't particularly insightful herself, so I'm unsubbing now.
It’s really jarring when Nikki builds up a head of steam and lays down some hard-hitting, well-researched knowledge, and then the other two break the rhythm of the show with some off-topic “quirky” nonsense about mushy peas or supporting Nottingham Forest or something.
A little of that goes a long way, boys. Nikki is the star of your show, deal with it.
Really have tried with this podcast but the schoolboy humour just gets me down. I have to keep skipping the bits where you think you’re funny. It’s a shame because the serious content is often good, but it’s not worth the effort of bypassing all the ‘banter’.
With so many podcasts around I prefer Newsagents USA or Rest is Politics US for quality analysis. This features two Brits acting dumb and basically interviewing an inane (and annoying sounding - sorry) American who delivers mediocre talking points you can pick up from cable TV or TikTok. No insider information or astute analysis. Also slow to react - their Trump-Putin summit reaction came a week after the event for example.
These guys are genuinely interesting, and they have some fun….they just force me to fast forward through sometimes minutes of silliness and inside jokes that I’m simply not interested in. Fun and hot takes - yes. Making each other laugh - not so much.
