All About Agatha is a podcast all about, well, Agatha. Agatha Christie, of course: the Queen of Crime, a real-life Dame of the British Empire, and author of sixty-six mystery novels that spanned the Twentieth Century, defining a genre. For five years, Catherine Brobeck and Kemper Donovan revisited these novels in publication order, ranking them according to pre-set criteria (plot, character, etc.)... more

I came to this podcast a bit late, started in August 2026, in fact! But I have listened to it every day to and from work ever since. I just finished the episode on curtain, I found myself brought to tears numerous times. For anyone who is an Agatha Christie podcast not only works, the Cannon, and so much background on her life and impact she has had the genre, but more than anything so much joy! I could not recommend it more high than anyone from the most casual to most devoted Christie. Thank y... more
I really enjoyed this even though I am late to the program. Loved the conversation about Bertie Wooster and Hastings! Have often thought same especially with Hugh Fraser playing Hastings on tv. The cat purring in the background was divine.
Charming, erudite, and the best nerdy fun. A must listen for Christie fans.
So it’s always answered by guests. What brought you to Christie? As I was growing up, my mother had some authors she followed, Christie among them. By Junior High I was reading the brooks as my mother finished them. I saw movies in the ‘60s on, as they came out. Another vibrant way to enjoy her. As I entered adulthood, her books just seemed to always be available. Then, when we first got a tv and cable, we watched a lot of old movies with our young kits. The Margaret Rutherford Miss Marple movie... more

A deeply analytical show centered on Agatha Christie's canon, its adaptations, and the historical context that informs her work. Episodes blend close literary reading with cultural history—ranging from character tropes (nurses, doctors, veterans) to settings (London, New Orleans) and the evolution of institutions like nursing and the NHS. The host duo often invites researchers, scholars, and guest authors to explore Christie-inspired puzzles, adaptations, and the author's broader legacy. The cadence mixes rigorous analysis with personal anecdotes, audience engagement, and occasional listener mail segments, making it a thoughtful yet approachable resource for Christie fans, scholars, and mystery readers alike. A standout trait is the persist... more
