  • Pondering, cerebral

The premise of the show is good, but the discussion I listened to was tortured. There is a place for nuanced points but it seems like every declaration by the guest generated a very deep follow up question to tease apart some point, which really makes for a slow, ponderous show.

  • Demystifies a complicated topic

I went into this show as an AI skeptic, but Jeff’s thoughtful conversations with a wide ranging parade of guests made me realize I was too quick to dismiss what can be an important tool. Curious (pun 100% intended) novices and experts alike will enjoy Jeff’s approachable style and his guests’ deep insights into this emerging technology. It’s a neat trick to get people to enjoy learning something new, and Jeff and company pull it off every episode. Oh, and the “Can AI help me pick a dog?” episode... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Inside the Real Bleeding Edge of AI Workflows, w/ Elijah Spencer
Q: Give listeners a sense of what your role is at Miden and the main use cases you've injected AI into.
Elijah describes his responsibilities across BD, Ops, and marketing, and outlines major internal apps like the social listening dashboard, sentiment and adoption analysis, and an outbounding workflow tied to a Guardian-based CRM strategy.
The Missing Half of AI: Geospatial Intelligence, w/ John Lenahan
Q: What are the biggest risks when using AI in maps and how do you de-risk?
The biggest risks center on data quality and human oversight; ensuring authoritative data, providing transparency cards about AI use, and keeping a human in the loop to validate results are key defences.
The Missing Half of AI: Geospatial Intelligence, w/ John Lenahan
Q: What is now possible with the new AI-enabled ArcGIS tools that wasn't before?
ArcGIS now ships AI in three ways: geospatial models, assistants to automate routine tasks, and Agenetic AI that exposes spatially aware agents to drive workflows and optimize decisions with where context.
The Missing Half of AI: Geospatial Intelligence, w/ John Lenahan
Q: Can you sketch out a scenario of how a city is building a physical model of a city to solve real problems?
By combining transportation data, computer vision traffic patterns, and a unified geospatial map, cities like Raleigh can identify near-miss hotspots and reconfigure infrastructure and traffic signals to improve safety and efficiency.
Unified Intelligence and the Future of Creative AI, w/ Caroline Ingeborn
Q: How does Luma ensure humans stay in the loop for taste and judgment?
By design, humans guide the initial vision and final decisions; agents automate repetitive, technical tasks and generate variants, but the creative direction, performance, and taste come from people, with guardrails and feedback to keep output aligned with quality standards.
