  • My favorite podcast

One of my favorite podcasts for political and cultural commentary. Every time I listen to an episode I find myself considering a point of view I had never considered before. Well organized, intellectual content. I always appreciate that Conner emphasizes spirituality - an aspect that is often left out of leftist discourse. My one wish is that he hosted more female guests- that would really make me like it more than I already do.

  • Worth your time

I really enjoy Connor‘s work. It’s a really nice, slow, thoughtful antidote to the surface conversations that’s surrounded us every day. I always make sure that I set time aside to properly listen to his podcast, like on a walk or when I’m travelling, because he really goes deeper into many areas and pulling from drawers from many worlds. It’s very rewarding to be taken seriously as a listener.

AEWCH 313: PILAR LESKO on HOW TO DEAL WITH BIG CHANGES
Q: What's the baseline for big change?
It's always both individualized and larger, as big change also reminds us of the uncontrollable aspects of life.
AEWCH 310: THE PARANORMAL IS NORMAL with BEN MACHELL / THE SPIRIT-ERA & ITS AFTERMATHS, PT 4
Q: What initially drew you to the paranormal and to Tony Cornell?
Ben Machell shares that his childhood interest in the supernatural was rekindled when he inherited a crystal ball from his grandmother. He became fascinated by the complexities of individuals in the paranormal field and specifically by Tony Cornell's approach that focused on understanding rather than debunking paranormal claims.
AEWCH 309: FAKIRS AND FAKERS with RAPHAEL CORMACK / THE SPIRIT-ERA & ITS AFTERMATHS, PT 3
Q: You didn't meet anybody who's still like a Dahesh in the book or bring them in. Is there a reason why?
Dr. Dahesh is a way to get into that. Rather than this being a cradle-to-grave story about Dr. Dahesh, I wanted to explore the broader context of the occult in the 20s and 30s.
AEWCH 309: FAKIRS AND FAKERS with RAPHAEL CORMACK / THE SPIRIT-ERA & ITS AFTERMATHS, PT 3
Q: Could you tell that story? Because I think it's a really good jumping off point for me because of how you actually then responded to that, and how other people who write about the occult might have responded.
It gets to the heart of one of these difficult questions about writing a history of occult movements, which is also, in a sense, similar to writing a history of the entertainment industry.
AEWCH 304: WHY AM I A CHRISTIAN? with LAURA SCAPPATICCI
Q: What do you think Christianity can do now, like in this moment?
It can lend us strength through shared stories and activate actions within us in connection with the narratives of Christ and others.
