I truly do not understand why with modern technology, these old radio shows are not touched up? sound quality to these episodes is so poor that I have to fight to listen so I can figure out what's going on.. if a real sound engineer got a hold of these episodes and clean them up, they might be worth listening to
If you liked the movie versions, then these are a great supplement. They are written in the vein dashiel intended, ie hard boiled with overly humorous banter - it’s a peek back into yesteryear and harmless fun
Fun to revisit the old radio shows. they knew how to do it. Recent attempts at the old radio format are mostly pretty dreadful. interesting to find out that Paptz blue ribbon beer used to be a blend of breweries. hum..but then again the plot reminds you of the banality of the times. most women will be offended at the silliness. unfortunately this means that the humor fails with a thud.
