  • Started great and nose dived into corporate shill territory

This is the first review I’ve ever left on a podcast. I’m a big fan of some of Alex’s previous interviews for the verge, so I thought I’d give this show a chance. As the title suggests, the first few interviews were pretty great. I really enjoyed the interview with Carl Pei.

But since then it feels like this has become a place for corporations in hot water to come in and take control of the narrative or shill their terrible ideas.

But also what did I expect from a podcast called access?

  • Too much preamble, interviews are weak and come off as ads

Too much preamble, interviews are weak and come off as ads. The latest episode is literally 33 min before the guest interview even starts. The hosts swear like middle schoolers, as in their diction is clumsy and does not add the emphasis they think it does.

  • Just Easy Questions 🙄

I guess the names says all, they just ask easy questions to guest so they don’t loose “access” to them. Most episodes feel like advertisement.

Anthropic’s hunt for the next Claude Code
Q: Are you still leading that long-horizon project you described earlier, and what happened to it?
The project was put on ice, its learnings graduated into outcomes that fed into Managed Agents, showing how long-horizon experimentation can fuel concrete, shippable results even if the original iteration stalled.
What happens when AI runs a store
Q: Lukas, how soon do you think AI will be able to manage human labor across industries without direct human oversight?
Lukas responds that while there are early, concrete steps showing AI can take on management-like tasks, the transition will happen gradually as models improve, with early deployments in controlled lab-like settings leading to broader, real-world applications in time.
Silicon Valley finally has its “Succession”
Q: What were the most ridiculous tech company names you all came up with on the show?
They created a long list of hilariously literal, sometimes risqué names, many of which were actually used or considered for in-show billboards, underscoring the writers' knack for satirizing the industry.
