  • Hands down THE best!

I rarely write reviews, but this podcast deserves all the praise it can get! I discovered this podcast through another trusted podcast I regularly listen to, and I knew I had to give it a try. Since then, it’s one of my absolute favorite ones and I’ve learned so much, not only about managing my older son’s anxiety but also about understanding my very own anxiety better. Last weekend, we went skiing, and my son was refusing, as expected, to go down the big hill. I knew he was ready though, and I ... more

  • I have learned so much

I love how informative and useful your episodes are. I was wondering if you could create 1 or more episodes on how to address the current situation children are facing with inequality, persecution by ICE, racism. How to do this while maintaining compassion, respect and kindness and without robbing them of their innocence. Thank you Lynn

What would Lynn Lyons Say? I have learned so much for my kids and my family as well as helping me understand other children and even students in my class. Empathy is at the root of Lynn's skill based guidance with a healthy dose of humour and laughter towards wellbeing for anyone. Thank you. I'm saving this one along with the rest in my back pocket.

  • Simply the best!

You all have been so helpful to me (and my husband because I share all the info with him and he uses the tips/language - yay!). My 5 year old daughter’s anxiety was the cult leader of our family since she was a little toddler, but through reading Lynn’s books and listening to the podcast for several years, we’re taking back control. As she enters each new classroom in daycare and kindergarten this year, it has been so helpful to be able to have a framework to give the teachers on how we’re manag... more

  • Sincerest Gratitude for your advice. Changed our family dynamics

I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Lynn and Robin for the amazing podcast that they have produced. I am not sure words can describe how helpful your advice has been to my family and others. I feel like we could be best friends the way you talk to your audience and each other. I have sent your podcast to every parent I know.

You have addressed so many topics related to parenting, especially anxiety. My husband and I did not know how to help my son, now 13, with his anxiety. Also, I fel... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Your Child's Anxiety Is Predictable. Here's How That's Useful.
Q: When is it time to put kids on meds?
The hosts acknowledge that medication discussions are nuanced and refer to expert discussions and resources for more context, emphasizing that medication decisions are individualized and rely on professional guidance rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Flusterclux Quarterlife: Roommates: Tips for Peace At Home
Q: What strategies help prevent recurring conflicts over chores and cleanliness?
Agree on a standard, use chore charts if helpful, set specific times for group cleaning, and practice reminders without defensiveness; if needed, reconsider living arrangements to protect relationships.
Flusterclux Quarterlife: Roommates: Tips for Peace At Home
Q: What is the most common problem people face when living with roommates in their 20s?
The biggest issue is the unequal division of labor and the difficulty of implementing agreed-upon routines, especially when others are forgetful or resistant to reminders.
Flusterclux Quarterlife: Robot Therapists: AI and Mental Health
Q: Yeah. So we're in the midst of, some might call it the AI revolution. I might call it the AI bubble, the AI Flusterclux. But it's definitely here, and people are using it for a variety of things. A big one is for mental health. People are asking AI all sorts of questions, taking its advice. But a friend of mine was wondering... am I on the right track at all, or is this thing lying to me?
The research shows that AI can be helpful for CBT-based mental health support, but it cannot replace a real therapeutic relationship. A combined approach, with human therapists augmenting AI tools, tends to be more effective than AI alone, and it's important to monitor progress and be skeptical of generic, non-contextual advice.
Flusterclux Quarterlife: Am I Falling Behind? The Comparison Trap and How to Avoid It.
Q: All right. today, I want to ask you about the anxiety of adulthood in the sense that your mid‑20s are when your class, your year starts to do things at different times. Why does this happen and how can we cope?
Timelines aren't the same for everyone, and that variability is normal. Focus on meaningful personal growth, live in the moment, and reassess goals over time rather than comparing to peers. It's okay for careers or life plans to shift; what matters is moving in a direction that feels right and maintaining connections with people you care about.
