  • Hands down THE best!

I rarely write reviews, but this podcast deserves all the praise it can get! I discovered this podcast through another trusted podcast I regularly listen to, and I knew I had to give it a try. Since then, it’s one of my absolute favorite ones and I’ve learned so much, not only about managing my older son’s anxiety but also about understanding my very own anxiety better. Last weekend, we went skiing, and my son was refusing, as expected, to go down the big hill. I knew he was ready though, and I ... more

  • I have learned so much

I love how informative and useful your episodes are. I was wondering if you could create 1 or more episodes on how to address the current situation children are facing with inequality, persecution by ICE, racism. How to do this while maintaining compassion, respect and kindness and without robbing them of their innocence. Thank you Lynn

What would Lynn Lyons Say? I have learned so much for my kids and my family as well as helping me understand other children and even students in my class. Empathy is at the root of Lynn's skill based guidance with a healthy dose of humour and laughter towards wellbeing for anyone. Thank you. I'm saving this one along with the rest in my back pocket.

  • Simply the best!

You all have been so helpful to me (and my husband because I share all the info with him and he uses the tips/language - yay!). My 5 year old daughter’s anxiety was the cult leader of our family since she was a little toddler, but through reading Lynn’s books and listening to the podcast for several years, we’re taking back control. As she enters each new classroom in daycare and kindergarten this year, it has been so helpful to be able to have a framework to give the teachers on how we’re manag... more

I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Lynn and Robin for the amazing podcast that they have produced. I am not sure words can describe how helpful your advice has been to my family and others. I feel like we could be best friends the way you talk to your audience and each other. I have sent your podcast to every parent I know.

You have addressed so many topics related to parenting, especially anxiety. My husband and I did not know how to help my son, now 13, with his anxiety. Also, I fel... more

Why Kids Should Not Be In Therapy Without Their Parents
Q: What should I look for when choosing a therapist who will involve my family?
Look for explicit evidence that the therapist works with families, asks about the family system, provides parent coaching, and offers joint sessions or regular updates to parents about goals and progress.
Best of: High Anxiety & Good Grades: Our Toxic Achievement Culture
Q: How do we balance expectations for kids to be good humans with avoiding high-performance anxiety?
Focus on teaching and modeling core life skills (time management, reliability, responsibility, emotional regulation) rather than fixating on grades; reward effort and process, not just outcomes, and involve kids in conversations about how to handle setbacks.
How To Handle Panic Attacks
Q: What is the best advice you can give to someone that has real panic attacks?
Help the person by staying present with them, avoid telling them to calm down or focus on breathing, and instead acknowledge the panic, sit with them, and calmly validate that this will pass while guiding them through the wave rather than trying to stop it immediately.
How To Not Pass On Your Social Anxiety To Your Kids
Q: How does anxiety in one parent affect the children?
The research suggests that if one parent promotes a positive outlook on social interactions, it can mitigate the influence of an anxious parent's negativity.
How To Not Pass On Your Social Anxiety To Your Kids
Q: What can parents do if they are socially anxious to prevent passing that on to their kids?
Parents need to model positive interactions and avoid negative talk about social situations.
