A cosy chat with our co-director, Tanya Vishniakova
Q: Is there a broader takeaway about dog ownership responsibilities you want listeners to hear?
Yes, that responsible ownership and empathy toward the dog are essential foundations for effective training and a humane, fulfilling human-dog relationship.
A cosy chat with our co-director, Tanya Vishniakova
Q: You mentioned concerns about breeds like Maltipoos and French bulldogs in Russia. What's going on there?
Breeding trends and owner priorities sometimes ignore dogs' health and behavior, leading to a rise in issues that complicate training and welfare, prompting selective client acceptance.
A cosy chat with our co-director, Tanya Vishniakova
Q: What are the biggest challenges with clients in apartments and city settings?
The main challenge is screening clients for alignment in values and understanding that dogs are living beings, not accessories, which shapes how training is approached and whether guidance will be heeded.
A cosy chat with our co-director, Tanya Vishniakova
Q: What's it like now living in that forested hut and how has that changed your work?
Living in a new, nature-forward setting has been therapeutic and has brought a calmer, more focused approach to training, helping both get respite from burnout and stay connected to their core passion.
A cosy chat with our co-director, Tanya Vishniakova
Q: So, how did you end up turning dog training into a profession after all that time?
It was a gradual shift over more than a decade, overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome, and building confidence to work with clients and their dogs while turning a passion into a legitimate profession.
