  • Business and finance through real life experiences, no theory in this podcast 5*

An absolute gem in the podcast realm. Its thought-provoking content on various topics is delivered by engaging guests who have a wealth of knowledge interesting and unique life experiences. Nick does the very simple but difficult thing to achieve in just letting his guess tell there story without adding his bit to everything they say. In my opinion, some other podcast are hosted by people who’s main purpose is to make themselves look good and it can spoil it by steering the conversation in diffe... more

What a fascinating collection of conversations. Edwin's episode was a total joy to listen to & I learned a alot about the private aviation industry. Nicks' thoughtful questions make it feel like you're evesdropping on a delightful chat between two friends. Highly recommended. I also enjoyed Nick's insightful interview with Swen Lorenz about the Sark Property Company. Can't wait to tune in for more!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A Different Perspective with Pedro Gonzalez de Cosio: How Pharmakon Is Transforming Life Sciences Financing
Q: What differentiates Pharmakon from larger private debt funds?
Pharmakon offers direct access to decision-makers with deep sector expertise, enabling more linear, efficient loan terms and close relationships with borrowers, rather than dealing with committees and cross-portfolio approvals common at larger funds.
A Different Perspective with Pedro Gonzalez de Cosio: How Pharmakon Is Transforming Life Sciences Financing
Q: How far do you go with pre-approval lending and what protections are in place?
Pre-approval loans are used selectively, typically after strong phase 3 data or near filing, with borrowers required to hold excess cash to ensure repayment even if approval is delayed, and many loans amortize quickly if approvals don't materialize.
A Different Perspective with Pedro Gonzalez de Cosio: How Pharmakon Is Transforming Life Sciences Financing
Q: So what's the premise of Pharmakon?
Pharmakon aims to provide high, stable returns to investors while delivering non-dilutive financing to life sciences companies, particularly after products gain data support for regulatory filing, allowing them to grow without diluting equity.
A Different Perspective with Dr Zaid Al-Fagih: How AI Can Make Medicine More Human
Q: How do you balance innovation with regulation and trust in AI for medicine?
He argues for a clear intended use approach to regulation, differentiating tools that support clinicians versus those that replace clinical judgment. He emphasizes human oversight, local data residency, and avoiding overreliance on consumer apps that bypass safeguards. Regulation is seen as necessary but needs to adapt to enable practical deployment without stifling innovation.
A Different Perspective with Dr Zaid Al-Fagih: How AI Can Make Medicine More Human
Q: As I like to start with a bit of background, how did you move from being a clinical doctor to an entrepreneur?
The shift began from frustration with the bottlenecks in clinical practice and how administrative tasks steal clinician time. He describes starting with a narrow focus on discharge summaries and misdiagnosis, then expanding into an AI-assisted, model-agnostic platform that streamlines documentation, decision support, and coding, while maintaining human oversight. The journey includes securing early VC interest and pivoting toward broader health-tech solutions.
