I'm enjoying the new perspectives presented in this podcast. Every time I listen I listen with my teen son we have great conversations about how people experience life differently based on race, income levels etc. I particularly love the raw honesty. This couple doesn't pretend to know it all, but rather invites you to grow in your understanding along side them.
If you like listening to normal people talking about real life things then you will love this podcast. Each episode asks the listener to imagine what it might be like to be black and poor in America today. I find it fascinating to learn about their neighborhood and how their own experiences have helped shape and change their opinions over the years. I’m about 5 episodes in, and I enjoy listening to the couple. I don’t always agree with their takes but I enjoy listening and learning about my city from everyone’s perspective.
I wish they would explain things a little more in depth. They talk about how building the highway impacted the zip code but so far they haven’t said how—other than people had to move.
