国見高校が近くにあるので、最寄り駅の多比良で降りてはいくのですが、島原高校に通う高校生が倍以上乗ってきて通路に整然と並びます。
毎日こうなのかな？と思いますが乗降遅延が10分以上ありまして、島原港駅から熊本行きの高速フェリーに乗り換えるのに冷や汗ものでした。

平日ということで、島原鉄道の2両編成の車両は学生が多く乗車しています。次の本諫早でそこそこ入れ替えしますが、このあと空くことは一度もなく、早い段階で無理してでも進行方向左側（海側）を確保しておくべきだったと後悔しました。
雲仙岳に沿うように時計回りに進んでいきます。
彼杵を出ると松原駅のあたりまでは海岸線に沿うように走っていきます。夜なのでその雰囲気はあまりわかりません。
大村車両基地あたりには新幹線の基地があるのですが、在来線からはよくわからないようで、新幹線のある新大村駅を過ぎて、大村から岩松、諫早との間は結構距離がありました。
佐世保で休憩を取らずに、そのまま諫早方面の列車に乗り換えます。
ハウステンボスに行く客が早岐から乗車してきました。
南風崎で対向列車の遅れを受け、あまり回復することもなく淡々と走っています。
