2017年の大河ドラマ「おんな城主直虎」では柴咲コウさんが演じた戦国ヒロイン・井伊直虎。
のちに35万石の大大名で江戸幕府の大老にまで上り詰める井伊家は、
実は一度その灯火が消えかかっていたことがあるんです。
その火を消さずに次世代へ繋いだのがこの井伊直虎。
資料が極めて少ない人なのでこれからの研究で今後実像が大きく変わるかもしれませんが、必死で家を守ろうとした女性がいた事実は決して変わらないんだろうなと思います。
