The Best Watch Podcast on Earth (Possibly the Universe)
If you like watches—even a little—“40 and 20” is not optional listening. It’s mandatory. Like setting the time on a perpetual calendar: you could ignore it, but you’d be wrong.
This podcast is what happens when deep horological knowledge, real-world collecting experience, and zero interest in taking themselves seriously collide at full speed. One minute you’re learning something genuinely insightful about movements, design philosophy, or ... more
These guys are so cool and the discussions perfectly paced. Linking to the watches discussed in the pod is a perfect addition!
The watch content is pretty good but sometimes their banter gets bogged down by corny, unfunny joke premises. In the episode I just listened to, one of them was talking about smoking meat and said that there is a cut of meat that they don’t sell anymore (or something like that) and the other jumped in and said something about a glory hole? Then they went on for a few more seconds joking about a glory hole? It was just kind of lame and made me turn it off, not because I’m offended or anything of... more
This is a no nonsense podcast that has a ton of nonsense. The two host couldn’t be more alike and at the same time, more diverse in their taste. The banter they exchange is what makes this a great show. Come for the watches, stay for the people.
Still going strong, and getting better each year. 😀

This show centers on affordable and accessible watches, with a strong emphasis on horology basics, brand trends, and hands-on testing. Hosts explore new releases, indie brands, and movement tech while weaving in personal stories, food, gear, and life anecdotes. The tone balances earnest watch analysis with casual banter and a recurring “other things” segment that covers cooking, gear, media, and everyday curiosities, making it feel like a friendly conversation among enthusiasts rather than a formal review. A few episodes stand out for deep dives into specific movements or brands, but the conversational chemistry between the hosts and their willingness to mix watch talk with broader lifestyle topics are consistently emphasized as strengths. more
