  • This is a fantastic podcast. Here’s why…

As someone who has been in business for over 30 years, one thing I am always reminded of is that whatever problem or hurdle you are facing, can usually be fixed by solving a specific single little bump in the road. This podcast, almost always gives me a tiny particle of clarity that I can smooth out a road bump. Love it.

  • Clear Target Audience

This show is super niche and it knows it, which is a good thing! They provide super valuable information and resources specifically to those in the ABA business. While ABA was never really my cup of tea as a special educator, there were aspects I found helpful.

My only comment for improvement would be in editing so that it comes across a bit more clean (reducing ums, uhs, etc)

Why Are Prior Authorizations in ABA Changing?
Q: What should clinics do now to prepare for these changes?
Adopt front-end care readiness tools, standardize documentation practices, run time audits, and consider partnerships with platforms like Silna to forecast denials and streamline submissions, so clinicians can focus more on delivering care.
Why Are Prior Authorizations in ABA Changing?
Q: How can AI and predictive document intelligence help ABA practices?
By analyzing treatment plans and supporting docs against guidelines, the system can flag likely denials, suggest necessary changes before submission, and improve first-pass approval rates while reducing manual rework.
Why Are Prior Authorizations in ABA Changing?
Q: Why are prior authorizations in ABA changing so rapidly?
Regulatory updates and CMS guidelines are pushing faster decision timelines and stricter documentation standards, which increases administrative burden but also creates opportunities for technology to automate and optimize the process.
Supporting Parents in ABA Therapy
Q: What's one practical step for a burned-out BCBA who dislikes parent training but needs to do it effectively?
Identify barriers to effective parent training, create a structured yet flexible plan, and prioritize rapport-building with the family so sessions are collaborative and responsive to the family's needs.
Supporting Parents in ABA Therapy
Q: Why do you think social skills groups are often underutilized in clinics, and how could they help?
Social skills groups can be more profitable and help generalize skills to peers, but challenges like matching, funding, and scheduling must be addressed; groups should involve caregiver training and alignment with insurance structures to be feasible.
