  • Multiple truths lead to better understanding

This idea of this podcast is brilliant and Sruli is a great host. While I don’t agree with some of the answers that are given by guests, the wide range of those who are passionately sharing their answers makes this a podcast I look forward to listening to. Now more than every Israel is on our minds and in our hearts and, for me, the podcast has given me more to think about and talk to others about.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jeremy Tibbetts: 'Being a spiritual seeker is not in vogue'
Q: What is Jewish mysticism?
Jeremy Tibbetts explains that Primus Atora, or Jewish mysticism, centers on turning inward to discover the inner heart of Torah, integrating Hasidic and Kabbalistic teachings as a cohesive path rather than a separate set of ideas.
Yehudis Golshevsky: 'The root of all prophecy is spiritual imagination'
Q: What is the purpose of prayer in Jewish mysticism?
Prayer is a binding act that connects the individual to God; it is valuable as an end in itself, not solely as a tactic to get what one wants, and even a single word can affirm faith and attentiveness to the divine.
Yehudis Golshevsky: 'The root of all prophecy is spiritual imagination'
Q: What is Jewish mysticism?
Jewish mysticism is the living, experiential dimension of Torah that informs how one lives, even for those who are not scholars; it emphasizes accessing deeper traditions and integrating them into daily life.
Shlomo Katz: 'Today's idol worship is self-persecution'
Q: How do you balance prayer and Torah study in daily life?
Prayer should fuse heart and mind, turning learning into prayer and prayer into learning, with a focus on authentic expression and the inner will to connect to Hashem.
Shlomo Katz: 'Today's idol worship is self-persecution'
Q: What is Jewish mysticism?
Mysticism is an invitation to know our true selves, a dialogue with the soul, and an inner path that integrates Torah, prayer, and inner experience rather than just external observance.
