Very interesting podcast about John Wayne’s life. Especially liked how you showed him to be a real person and not just a movie icon. To add to your story, I wanted to tell you about a friend of mine who was an extra in the movie The Horse Soldiers. He was one of the boys from the Virginia Military Academy. My friend told me that every day at lunch time that John Wayne would sit down on the ground with the boys and tell them stories. This was a very special memory for him.
Great story about “The Duke”. John Wayne was a real guy, warts and all, but he was a Man and a good one at that. He influenced a generation of good men. However the pendulum has swung the other way, and now Wayne and his ilk bring out the shrill cries from todays “social warriors”. more
