阿弥陀様には48の願いがあることをご存じでしょうか？
『仏説無量寿経』に、阿弥陀様が私たちのために立てられた48の願い「四十八願」が説かれています。
前回の円龍寺ラジオでは、「三途・三塗」をテーマに、地獄・餓鬼・畜生という「三悪趣」についてお話ししました。
その三悪趣がない世界を願うのが、阿弥陀様の48の願いの一番最初の願です。
そのほかにはどんな願いがあるのでしょうか。

三途の川という言葉は、皆さんも聞いたことがありますよね。
亡くなった人があの世へ向かう途中に渡る川です。
そして閻魔大王の裁きを受ける。
そんなイメージを持っている方も多いと思います。
仏教には「三途」だけではなく、「三塗」と書く「さんず」もあります。
浄土真宗の方なら、お正信偈に続いて読む和讃の中にある
「三塗の黒闇ひらくなり」
という言葉で、こちらの「三塗」のほうがなじみがあるかもしれません。
