  • Lowkey Therapy

I’ve loved YSS ever since Adele started it and I continuously love the life experience, advice, sensitivity and overall wealth of knowledge that Adele has to share. YSS is frequently discussed in my therapy sessions as one of my mental health tools to feeling better and being a better version of myself. For some this is ‘just another podcast’ but not for me or the thousands of other listeners. We Broke Up, but Still Live Together
Q: Hey Adele, I'm after some advice about living with your ex post-breakup. In short, we have been together for four years and recently mutually called it quits after about a year of dysfunction. What should I focus on to keep the peace while we still share a home?
Focus on creating separate routines and spaces, set clear boundaries, and build a support network of friends to lean on during tough moments. Prioritize your healing over relying on the ex for emotional comfort, and establish an exit plan with a rough timeframe so the situation remains temporary and manageable.
Would You Leave a “Perfect” Partner?
Q: Hi Adele, I need a second opinion. My ex and I were together for almost two years. He was a 24-year-old virgin, and I was a 20-year-old who had been in a previous relationship. He was such a great guy, absolutely no flaws... but he could never get it up long enough to try. We tried very often early on in the relationship, and it just never worked. I thought sex would improve, but it didn't. I ended up ending the relationship and feel guilty. Was I right to leave?
You made a hard, brave decision to leave when your needs—especially around intimacy—weren't being met, and you shouldn't carry the guilt for choosing your own future happiness. It's normal to grieve, but trust your gut; the right relationship would meet you halfway and would show effort to address important issues rather than avoiding them.
Their Betrayal Has Nothing to Do with Your Worth
Q: Hi Adele, I was in a six-year relationship. In the last year my boyfriend's best friend got engaged and my boyfriend became a groomsman, but he grew distant and started dating the maid of honor. What should I focus on to rebuild my self-worth?
Focus on your truth, block contact to protect your healing, list your strengths and what you brought to the relationship, and reframe the story so you see that his choices don't reflect your value. Journaling helps separate what happened from what you think happened, and remember you deserve someone who is fully invested.
Dating in 2025 Is Actually Diabolical
Q: Can you give me any advice on how to feel comfortable being on my own and trusting what is meant to find me will?
Focus on building your own life, embracing your journey, and understanding that you are on your own timeline.
Would This Give You the Ick Too?
Q: Do you have any tips for me for making this transition easier during the holiday period?
Adele shares tips on planning, packing strategies, and maintaining routines for pets during a move.
