  • Misleading

Title is misleading. This is more a dump on all the music they listened to on their teens because now they sin a lot and say it’s ok. Wish it was actually just appreciating the music not finding reasons to dump on it.

  • So much nostalgia, really informative, and sometimes jaw dropping!

If the hosts ever run out of 90s bands to cover I hope they move on to the 00s too!!

  • Too much soy

These guys have good insights on the music, however because of their anti-Christian and far-left world views it can make their opinions on the music’s message essentially irrelevant. Just for context, they felt the need to use the word “problematic” like 20 times when describing Ghoti Hook. They mention that they have both had to go to therapy (even to this day) just because someone told them there was a such thing as right/wrong; not realizing that they have essentially exchanged one religion f... more

  • Great insight and commentary on a little known genre

I’ve really been enjoying this podcast..these guys are a little younger than me and have a slightly different point of reference, but it’s good to hear the balance of true love for this music along with commentary on what it all means now in the context of our society. Great stuff!

  • Great show

I really enjoy listening to this show. Great commentary on music, lyrics, presentation, and history of xtian bands from the 1990s. Like the hosts, I was obsessed with this stuff as a kid but view it thru a bit of a different lens these days. They also unearthed in my memory an old interview with a band in which the members talked about how they’re staunch Calvinists. Lol. Yikes. Anyway, great content for those of us in that niche!

  • Good Actual Fun

Less Snarky than Good Christian fun, it’s view point seems to be more about reviewing stuff they use to love, then to point out how stupid anyone else was for loving it

  • Relentlessly idiotic

Whether you still believe or used to believe, you'll find this podcast surprisingly stupid. These two simpletons nitpick old albums in an effort to seem clever, but often miss the forest for the trees.

The Dan Fritz interview is worth a listen to hear his thoughts, but the hosts themselves are mind-numbingly idiotic.

  • Wanna hear two guys discuss the Christian music they listened to growing up in the 90s? With the passage of time, some music still hits the same way and some just doesn't. It's great to hear their current opinions of this music from their past. If you recognize the names Poor Old Lu, All Star United, Michael Knott, Rainy Days, O.C. Supertones, Newsboys, or Blaster the Rocket Boy, this might be a great fit for you. Language warning- a couple episodes do have some explicit language. I'm going to k... more

  • Combat Chuck

Did you ever go with your church youth group to a Christian show while praying hard to remain abstinent through your burning teenage years? Well this, my friends, is your podcast! I love the deep dive into the culture behind the music and sociological discussion that comes from it! Combat chuck, pick it up, pick it up!
