Tenshin Roshi's down to earth style, honesty, and humility has helped me tremendously. Sometimes I think my struggles with Zen practice are weird or dumb, and then Roshi says he dealt with the exact same thing. He also explains the context of the old koans, which helps me work with them a bit more effectively.
I have been a regular listener for the past 5 years. I come back to this podcast again, and again, and again. It is zen practice, stripped of western knick knacks and romanticism. Listen to this podcast as an enriching addition to your practice.

Deep insight exposed in the form of down to earth dialogue. It does not seem deep but when you hear carefully you realise Tenshin is talking from ‘down there’ and from ‘up there’ (meaning right here) and before you realise he has brought you to his side in a wonderful place of your mind. I am fascinated by what I learned.
